Aside from the otters it is probably the birdlife that is the primary reason for most wildlife tourists to Mull. That is hardly surprising given that 261 species of bird have been recorded there. There are a few species that make it onto the postcards and calendars such as puffins and eagles but the sheer diversity and ease with which you can see birdife on Mull makes it a dream come true for bird watchers.

There are a number of different types of bird on Mull and more information is provided about them below (text to come soon):

  • Birds of prey
  • Coastal and seabirds
  • Little Brown Jobs (LBJs)
  • Ducks and geese
  • Migratory birds
